Birdon’s latest Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Benchmark Report confirms what many across our business and industry are increasingly recognising: fair pay, progress and opportunity are built into the way we operate.
In an industry where gender pay gaps remain a persistent challenge, Birdon’s results stand out. Our average gender pay gap sits in favour of women, and our median pay gap falls within WGEA’s recognised “neutral” range — indicating balanced and equitable pay outcomes across the business.
One of the most notable findings from the report shows Birdon’s average total remuneration gender pay gap at –7.9% (in favour of women). This compares to an industry average of 13.3% in favour of men, highlighting a significant point of difference in how people are rewarded within our organisation.

On a median basis, Birdon’s gender pay gap is 4.8% in favour of men, still well within WGEA’s neutral range of –5% to +5%. By comparison, the broader manufacturing sector reports a median gap of 11.3% in favour of men. Together, these results reinforce a clear principle at Birdon: pay outcomes are driven by capability, contribution and experience.
