Hoby Swiney

Hoby Swiney is an accomplished engineering and program management leader with over 15 years of experience in the maritime and defense sectors. As Director – Programs at Birdon, he oversees strategic program execution, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination for high-value government and commercial contracts.

Prior to joining Birdon, Hoby held senior roles at Austal USA, including Program Engineer and Program Manager, where he led multidisciplinary teams and managed complex naval shipbuilding programs with budgets exceeding $6 billion. He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering Technology, and is an active member of ASME, ASNE, and NAIT. Hoby also maintains an active U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
