Mitch Kelly

Mitch Kelly is an experienced leader in project delivery and well engineering, bringing a strong track record of managing complex, high-value operations safely, efficiently, and on schedule. As General Manager – Australia West, he is responsible for leading Birdon’s regional operations, driving performance, and ensuring the delivery of quality outcomes for clients. 

With a career spanning offshore and onshore energy projects, Mitch has held senior roles across project management, well engineering, and operational leadership. He has successfully led multidisciplinary teams to deliver major projects, including the Maui A field redevelopment and Griffin RTM Decommissioning, achieving excellent HSSE performance while meeting time and budget expectations. 

Mitch is known for establishing clear structure, setting priorities, and fostering accountability across teams. He is passionate about developing and motivating people, creating high-performing environments where individuals can grow and contribute to shared success. 

Throughout his career, he has championed innovation and continuous improvement, delivering initiatives that enhance safety performance, maximise production, and reduce cost. His technical expertise spans drilling, completions, well integrity, operations management and decommissioning across offshore, subsea and onshore operations.
