Scott Jones

Scott Jones joined Birdon in 2024 as Project Director within the Defence Division, where he successfully led the expansion of the Henderson (Western Australia) office. He now serves as Manager, Technical Services, overseeing a national team responsible for delivering high-quality technical support across all Birdon’s operational and project portfolios.

A seasoned engineering and project management professional, Scott brings extensive experience in the design, construction, upgrade, and sustainment of commercial and defence maritime platforms. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Marine and Offshore Systems) from the Australian Maritime College and a Master of Science in Project Management from Curtin University. He is also a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) accredited by Engineers Australia.

In his current role, Scott leads the Technical Services Team across Birdon Australia, covering key capability areas including Design and Drafting, Systems Engineering, Platform Engineering, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Naval Architecture, and Technical Governance.

Since beginning his career as a Mechanical Engineer in shipbuilding, Scott has held leadership roles across the broader defence maritime sector. His diverse background spans project management, engineering management, commercial operations, supply chain, and advanced technology programs, including underwater robotics and submarine systems.

Scott’s leadership is instrumental in ensuring Birdon continues to deliver technically robust, innovative, and client-focused solutions across its defence and commercial maritime programs.
